Radiance Commerce - The Radiance Platform leaves the Lab

We started Radiance Labs because we were excited about the growth of messaging and how it could change the online shopping experience. 


To test this theory, we developed a text-based ordering service, called Genie, specifically designed to help users reorder their favorite consumable products. It was a great way to observe conversations about shopping and how they led to consumer purchases. We came away convinced that messaging would emerge as a powerhouse interface for commerce.


We soon began working with brands who shared our vision that messaging would emerge as a trusted commerce channel for consumers. Our evolution from a consumer facing service to a brand facing platform helped us reach more consumers on messaging. We have learned a lot of great lessons along the way and that’s made our platform stronger and well-positioned to help brands succeed in this new era of conversational commerce.


Fast forward to 2021, the market saw a breakout year for the adoption of SMS marketing by e-commerce brands. 2021 also saw a rapid acceleration in the emergence of headless commerce platforms, focused on separating the front end or “head” of an ecommerce experience from the back-end systems that manage inventory and orders. The emergence of new headless platforms, as well as existing commerce platforms adding headless capabilities, is paving the way for innovative new commerce experiences.  Headless checkout, in particular, is allowing merchants to sell their products on channels beyond their website. 


The stage is indeed set for 2022 to be the
year of conversational commerce. At Radiance, our commerce product is ready to “leave the lab” and emerge as Radiance Commerce! As Radiance Commerce, our product will continue to address the marketing and support needs of our customers, but will place a particular emphasis on commerce and transactions, helping consumers find what they need, feeling secure in their purchase, and delighted in their experience.
